I think we are confusing Greatest and favorite singers here. I checked a few experts opinions and the names that usually came up were Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner and Whitney Houston. But as far as favorites I would go with Patty Loveless, Suzy Bogguss, and Allison Krause.

I would tend to believe that one's favorite singer may be decided by the frequencies of the vocals produced by the artist and the effect on each individuals brain. I do like Patty Loveless, Suzy Bogguss, and Allison Krause as mentioned above. Which may account for my primitive nature.
