I have a lot of coyote glands and am having trouble grinding them. Food processor doesn't work. How do you get them ground real fine?

I usually grind my stuff semi frozen. That seems to help a lot. I'll put my stuff in Ziploc bag and freeze it laying flat and thin enough that I can chop it up easy with hatchet to grind. Sharp blades help too.

We grind all glands 2-3 times so as to get to the right texture needed after ageing. We run them thru 1/8" plate to achieve our consistency.

I cant imagine using a food processor but for a small batch of well handled glands. Well ground glands will process more easily in the end.

A smaller grid size established prior to ageing will help you get your desired results over time. You may need to experiment over the years as to the desired degree of texture you like. I like to grind twice before aging then one final grind time before processing them prior to formulation. We do everything indoors with aging so conditions remain very constant from year to year.

Correct, many use a cheap hand grinder from a thrift store of flea mkt for a few $$.
Partially frozen, as mentioned.

If you can find 1 with different plates, better yet, and start with large holed plate, then change to plate with smaller holes.

food processors work let them age till all the red meat matter swells then run it thru, The food processor! It will come out the texture of pudding and about that thick. FYI if you have a weak stomach don't try it!

Trim them good so there's no meat or hair just gland and secretions and you don't have to grind them. They will be like butter in ten years.

I grind anal glands fresh thru a hand grinder 3x. Preserve them fresh, add a small amount of glycerin done. I add bladder urine to half, coyotes pee on both... grin
