I like this YouTube channel. Mostly about 17th century cooking and period clothing. In this one they render coon fat for use as a protectant. It's a channel that doesn't do much trapping stuff and probably won't in the future but whatever.

I'd like to see him come home after a day on the line and TRY to scrap bout 25 or so coon! LOL

That was pretty good.The one guy was flabbergasted by the coon fat.

I have tossed coon fat scrapings in the stove. I've set them up on a bird feeder too, when it's real cold.
