Just bought one with a box of shells though it for a song for my father in law's birthday. First shotgun.

Anyone have one? How are they? Seemed like a solid gun for a first shotgun

Only gun I've owned to split a stock. Broke under recoil right through the wrist. Not a bad design just bad wood.

solid gun , a budget version of the 1200 that was issued by the tens od thousands to Mexican federal police as well as used my many other

the 1200 was a lower cost to produce version of the model 12 and the 120 a budget version of the 1200.

they work well.

the 120 ranger was often sold in department stores like K-Mart.

but a solid gun very workable and parts from the 1200 fit https://www.gunpartscorp.com/gun-manufacturer/winchester/shotguns-win/1200/parts-list-win1200

Cool
Will have to get the choke opened to modified.

And warrior, the gun has some similarities toy Ithaca model 37.

And my Ithaca broke the stock at the wrist as well from recoil. It broke the top of the wrist off. Electrical tape fix. I can't complain with the Ithaca as a first gun though, and I hope the wife's dad will be happy with the model 120

Paid 125 Canadian for it, so a bit under $100 US for it.

I think that's fine

How so? Never said it was a bad design. I've always thought the rotating bolt, similar to the AR-15, was as strong a lock up as you could get in a scattergun.

Well, I simply meant in aesthetics. More differences than similarities I suppose, but side by side they look similar. I loved my ithaca. Killed hundreds of critters with it.

X2 I hi have a model 12 that’s marked full I was going to have opened up but after patterning it on paper I found it shooting more like a modified barrel

Not the first older gun I found like that either
