$40k to spend?
$30K on 30 foot skiff for offshore fishing and shrimping and $10k on a truck, (Dodge or Chevy, not Toyota).

Buy a silver Mustang GT instead of the truck and boat. You won’t think of them either - you will be too busy and too tired.

Do this before it is too late. The truck and boat are for later.

A boat has never caught a fish in the life of it. The person in the boat catches the fish. I have a 17 FT. John boat with a 30 HP Johnson on it. I catch more fish on the river than 90% of the people fishing. I never get up and try to beat the crowd because my Motor doesn't run as fast as the big boats with 150HP motor on them. I take my time and know where and how to fish.

But.....what's the point of having 150 HP and just sitting there catching fish? Ya gotta floor it, plane it out and show off what ya got!
I have a 12' jon boat and a lectrik motor.

Go to an auction. Buy both. Have money left for gas.

Get a used truck that is a lease turn in.

Find a friend that has a boat and borrow his.

Buy a 30000$ boat all the new gadgets to put on it and a dock to park it at. With what's left buy some wheels to get you there. Probably a good idea to keep current wheels as a backup. Spend more time in the boat and little in the truck. Call in sick to work more.
