The pan pivot has to be real close to the dog side jaw. U cant use the regular pan pivot position to make it dogless

That pivot outside the jaws is what makes dogless great. Any time the pivot is inside the jaw there is some "dead area", small or large. I like the Montgomery style best, maybe just because I'm used to it. Agreed

Thought I was a good trapper until I started trapping coyotes...... Thought I was a good bowhunter until I targeted mature bucks....

He is spot on. Not trying to bust your chops, just don't see how it can be made clearer! Study an old dogless monty, you will understand.
