There is a good video of a coyote being caught on the Wilderness forum.

The problem of seeing the actual catch is that learning how to make that catch is over. Locklear actually says this in his Teachers of the Night - Dirt Hole video. I have it and he’s right! Actually, I was intrigued with how much the coyotes in the video DIDN’T spend over the trap. But that’s the whole point of the TotN videos. I now set my coyote traps 90 to 180 degrees away from the hole and I catch fur much better than when I put the trap right in front of the hole

Problem i have with teachers of the night is how did the camera a object that is noticed effect the coyotes behavior at the set? The video is interesting but not revolutionary as some would say Just my 02
There i said it....

I believe he says they used night vision equipment and were quite a ways away from the sites. This means telephoto lenses to me. If you can get coyotes in for a 50-100 yard shot with a call and rifle, I can’t see why a 50-100 yard set back with night vision equipment would be any different.

lol I don't need a video to tell me they don't follow the rules. Snow has proven they can and do work a hole 360 degrees! climb all over backing and step on guiding. I've never been the guy that believes two traps at one attractor was the best but I don't believe it would hurt either. Ive yet to find a yote that wasn't camera shy! Also ive offset ,set directly in line. Bottom line if they like the scent you applied they are gonners! Bed trap rock solid and working the rest is time.

After studying track patterns at sets for years in snow I've come to one conclusion, you can't place the trap too close but you sure can get it too far away. We learn more from our misses than our catches!
Common sense catches alot of fur.. Pay homage to all you harvest..
