It's scary times and it's not gonna get better if people don't fight this crap. Got towns in Illinois passing ordinances saying turn your AR in or pay a $1000 fine. It's all crap.

Hopefully the Second Amendment Foundation goes after some of these towns trying to make their own such laws.

Yes, that's it. Imagine the $1k day penalty! If a town can have this kind of authority, what's next, they go after revolvers? Thus why I support SAF, NRA...
If you aren't a LEO you don't know jack crap about how we think or feel about this. I cant think of any, whether County, Municipal, State or Federal who would back the confiscation of firearms. We would align with the protectors of the second amendment and move to the forefront of delivering, those, who chose to infringe on our freedoms to room temperature.
Let this happen and see how many LEO's are out on the street in uniform. We wont be. We will be beside you dealing with the problem.

I cant think of any here that would participate in it either, Sheepdog.
My guess is that's why the town above tried to go the daily penalty route. They knew they couldn't get anyone to carry out their dream.
I sure don't know where this "army Of LEOs that don't see a problem with it" are, Warrior. I've never met ONE that didn't have a problem with it. BUT, I've heard some really weird things coming out of the East coast.

Sheepdog that aint true everywhere. When KS made permission less carry legal in spite of municipal restrictions, there were some problems with harassment in Wichita KC Lawrence and Salina. I'm not talking about people looking for trouble by wandering around in front of a jail with a camera and open carry AR either. That has been halted but it was certainly real for a few months.

Everyone forgets about New Orleans during Katrina. Mayor said get them all and they happily tried. I'm sure some figured out how not to participate but plenty of LEOs went right at it and none made the news standing against it. Then they denied it ever happened until someone found them.

I know guys who went down to Katrina 10 bands. Lots of guns floating around ON THE STREETS. Most stayed floating around on the streets. It wasn't Mayberry back then. Closer to Mogadishu.
Most news worthy things don't make the news. If people only knew.

My thoughts exactly. It's just like a civil war. People are going to take sides. There are plenty of police out there that think no one should have guns but them. To say otherwise is disingenuous. By the same token there are police that will defend the 2nd. It would be interesting to know what the numbers are on each side. However, it would not surprise me in the least to find a majority of police that are anti 2nd. They may say they are pro 2nd when there is no problem but give them a path like Katrina and see what side the choose. I think most of us would be disappointed in their pick but hardly surprised.
I BELIEVE IN MY GOD, MY COUNTRY AND IN MYSELF.

Well how goes it in California, New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and other totalitarian states where the 2nd is being abolished. We don't see large numbers of LEOs practicing civil disobedience much less open revolt at having to follow unconstitutional orders.
I've never once said LEOs are evil or otherwise horible people. On the contrary I believe almost all to be good human beings wanting to do right by their communities. But what is right? Continuing to enforce code as code slowly but inexorably slides into totalitarian practice? Continuing to ramp up into paramilitary practice on the pretense of "homeland security"? Building walls of hostility between community and enforcement through "community policing"?
Us citizens, especially those of us who once took a similar oath to yours, are increasingly losing faith in our civil servants.
So long as they're stored in a child safe, approved safe with mandated trigger locks and duly registered and not taken out of the home without proper permitting and transported separate from any ammunition in a secure container not within reach of the occupants and you duly inform all LEOs.
