I have a 4 yom beagle. Hes my buddy. He lives half in the house, half outside in an above ground kennel. Hes a rabbit running machine. Well mannered. Couldn't ask for more. He has one fault I can no longer tolerate. He is still marking everything. It's not that hes not house broke. He just Mark's everything. My house, my parents house. I can't take him anywhere. I've never had a dog I couldn't break but if I try any harder hes gonna break if you get what I mean. Anyhow I'm thinking about taking him to the vet and getting him nutted. Did it to a female once. She got so far so quick I couldn't even run the weight off her. Any experience with nutting a Male hound that hunts.

Don't do anything you don't want to explain to the paramedics. I do appreciate a good story tho.

Ours stopped marking after we put the other dog down (cancer). After he got neutered (cancer again), he lost his drive to do most anything. Sweet dog, couch potato.

I had a neutered male shorthair who was an upland and waterfowl hunting machine before I neutered him. After I neutered him, he was still every bit as good of a hunter as before. I neutered him because he was marking in the house and neutering him definitely cut down the marking immensely (although not completely) but it did help a lot. Would do it again if I ever had to. My current male shorthair is 6 and is not neutered, but he doesn't mark at all.

They are a goofy dog my female REALLY likes her bed she pushes that thing all over like a male would until I yell at her, if not that she lays next to it and holds it in her mouth for long periods. Great dog just a little off of center at times.

The girlfriend moved in at one point. She had a black lab, but it has gotten better now that I got rid of the two useless animals. I guess it's time to take the chance and get him nutted. Can't stand it anymore

It's the nature of Beagles. They mark with their pee, they mark with their scat...they mark. I wish I had a solution for you, but neutered or unneutered I've never noticed a difference. I've even owned mutts who were half beagle exhibit this trait.
