We just jump in the truck and drive 10 minutes off the mountain, Nice Italian Restaurant, great pizza, prices very reasonable, Don't pay to cook. LOL.
And they have running water, soap and everything!

start with all the things you like in stew , you put it in a pot and let it simmer while in camp , then each time you return to camp you bring it up to a boil then serve when your done eating for the night add more of the things you like in stew , and let it simmer while you are in camp.

Now, not sure of your area you hunt but here if there is a creek 4 feet wide you could catch fish for your meals.

Dad always only wanted to dirty 1 pan.
So, he'd cook the meat first....bacon or sausage or hamburger or whatever
remove meat but leave grease in pan
ADD sliced or diced potatoes and brown
While taters cook crumble/chop up meat
Once taters done add chopped meat and ADD several eggs....depending on how much meat and taters used....depending how many needing fed
Enough eggs to cover meat/taters well.
Lower heat and Flip/mix well and when nearly done
Add shredded cheese, cover with lid and remove from heat until cheese is melted.

The variety of meats and taters (sweet/red/Idaho) and cheeses can really vary what is eaten.

Dad would put corn on the cob around campfire edge at times...or foil wrapped broccoli or cabbage.

Not hunting camp but tonight's supper in the camper at the MN conventon is Hawaiian chicken and sautéed garlic green beans.

Ideas
Chili, hearty stews, hamburger gravy or meatballs and potatoes, breakfast burritos, sloppy joes, taco bake (hotdish or caserole), beef or hamburger stroganoff...

Anything you can chop up and throw in a skillet , then jam in a flour tortilla .

Use plenty of cheese to weld all the ingredients together so they don't roll out

it isn't about being a gourmet cook , but a good hearty hot meal is good for the body not hard to make and can be very inexpensive

99 cent 5pound sack of taters
99 cent 2 pounds of carrots
99 cent 3 pound sack of onions
scrounge in the freezer for meat if you dig deep enough your likely to find a few pounds of last years ground venison
a few spices you just grab some out of the cupboard at home. salt , pepper , bay leaves , garlic powder .

a few loaves of bread , make some sandwiches to take out for lunch and bread to have stew over , sop up the juices with more bread and the bowl is almost clean , a very little wash and it's done.

and you spend less money than your canned stuff and pop tarts. I don't know about you but I never ate a pop tart and said , oh that was good and am I ever full.

that said , we eat like kings , full turkey dinner , my mom makes up a big pan of Lasagna and sends it up frozen, but we have a regular kitchen with an oven and fridge in addition to the coolers on the porch.
I didn't even mention the tins of cookies wives and grand daughters send and the pies my cousins wife sends.

we do have a crock pot of stew that stays going lunch, breakfast or when ever your hungry it is there.


one year we had a new guy my dad invited , dad told him to pick up some shrimp and sauce didn't ask him to bring any other groceries, well he was very excited to be asked to come hunt he brought so many shrimp , we skipped dinner and just sat around drinking and eating shrimp I think we each ate a pound.

Hobo packs. You can make them ahead of trip or at camp.

Heavy duty tinfoil with hamburger balls, carrots, onions, potatoes, whatever else some margarine and S&P inside. Each one sized for an individual.

Lay them in the coals of your campfire then tear open eat right out of the foil. Easy and delicious.

Best camp meal Iv'e ever had is when my good friend who some of you might know - Reid Aiton comes out to trap and brings frozen blocks of picked crab meat from the CA coast. We eat crab sandwiches until we are about to grow claws.
