Humans are funny animals. In my parents generation(not MY parents literally but THIER generation),people burned flags,protested our government,burned draft cards,and wanted to overthrow our government because they weren't happy with SOME decisions our leaders had made. But I notice that now, those same people aren't interested in protesting those social security checks or pensions that my generations paying for, but will never see.Money and support coming from the same "establishment"they once were so adamantly against.This too will pass and all will fall into line eventually....or not. As far as the nfl,I must say that having played the game enough in my younger years,I have a hard time believing the almost theatrical outcomes are even real anymore.

They had a chance to start a fresh season and try to put the flag protests behind them, and what do they do but some players come out and stir the pot on the 1st night. Hmmm. I guess I'm not surprised. Those guys aren't brain surgeons.
And what's up with the fist in the air...is that supposed to be a sign of respect in their mind? Fist or kneeling, I don't get it. I used to watch NFL to 'escape' from some of the stress seen in daily life. I wish they'd just play football.

I'm not going to let a very few disrespectful morons ruin the enjoyment I get from watching the games. Goodell will ruin it before they do. However, as an exercise of my freedom of expression I will not buy or wear any NFL related items, accept gifts of NFL paraphernalia, or attend any games in person until the NFL controls the actions of it's employees on the job site in a manner that I, as a consumer, consider appropriate.

If the nfl dropped off the end of the world it wouldn't bother me one bit. Their protesting shows hate for the USA and it doesn't support their cause for what they are trying to achieve.

I would bet most people wouldn't even know why they are doing what they are doing and trying to accomplish. These players talk about dividing the country is wrong and they are dividing the country in what they are doing in a bad way.

Give them some time they will have a prison league in the future the way they beat on their girlfriends and stay involved it stupid behaviors after they can walk away from it. A lot of talented guys in prison that could be living the good life because they could not leave the old life behind.


Nobody is doing anything to them that is even close to what these fools do to themselves and blame others for it, millionaires with people of all races worshipping them buying their gear making them rich and they crap on what made that all possible.

Geeze it's clearly an employee labor issue.. If their bosses let them do it then blame the Boss and league. Doesn't most everyone that has a job, works for someone other than them selves, have work place rules? Union or no union most employee's are told how to dress, when and where to stand, and what is expected of them. So it's the employer allowing it..If it bothers you don't watch and don't buy their crap..It doesn't upset me because I never got caught up in all that show sports crap.

Mac brings up a good point although I think its a little more complicated. They are wearing thier uniforms,playing when and where told,and playing the positions they are told to play. They are also running the plays they are told to run. That kinda encompasses the "work " part of it. I think this is brought out by our new age of trying to make everybody comfortable at any cost. We have lost sight of logical thinking that tells us you cannot please everybody. It just kind of sucks that once again the majority of americans have to bend over for the few unhappy. Also,if you take race out of the equation,what are you left with? Police officers shooting criminals? I thought thats what we pay them for?

I watch and will continue to watch. My father,brother,father-in-law and three brother-in-laws all served in the military. Dad and my FIL are gone but I can speak for dad it is a free speech issue and it doesn't bother any of them. I can't speak for my FIL as I only met him a couple of times.

Better think again. They are doing it on TV, not in locker room. They are targeting you along with the rest of us.

I stopped watching all professional sports decades ago. I used to enjoy the occasional football game, mostly Superbowls but I was never that into it. I have a hard time understanding the rabid fanaticism displayed by many "fans" and some of them are my friends. The players are not heros, just good athletes that are overpaid and over-glorified for playing kid games.

From what I hear the game has been watered down, wussified over the years with new rules designed to make it less "dangerous." Between that and the players suing (and winning) over the concussion issue, players disrespecting the National Anthem and now male cheerleaders, I don't expect I'll be tuning in anytime soon.

I do enjoy professional MMA. It's a pretty straight-forward contest, hand-to-hand combat almost. The stronger, faster better fighter wins. Nobody sues the venue over concussions and these guys get punched in the head for a living! And nobody disrespects the Countries they or other fighters hail from and lots of different Countries are represented.

Sounds like the crybabies in the NFL could learn a few things about respect from cage-fighters.

* In 2012, the NFL had an issue with Tim Tebow kneeling for
each game to pray, They also had an issue with Tebow wearing
John 3:16 as part of his eye-black to avoid glare, and made
him remove it.

* In 2013, the NFL fined Brandon Marshall for wearing green
cleats to raise awareness for people with mental health disorders.

* In 2014, Robert Griffin III (RG3) entered a post-game press
conference wearing a shirt that said "Know Jesus/Know Peace”,
but was forced to turn it inside out by an NFL uniform inspector
before speaking at the podium.

* In 2015, DeAngelo Williams was fined for wearing
"Find the Cure" eye black for breast cancer awareness.

* In 2015, William Gay was fined for wearing purple cleats to
raise awareness for domestic violence. (Not that the NFL has
a domestic violence problem ).

*In 2016, the NFL prevented the Dallas Cowboys from wearing
a decal on their helmet in honor of 5 Dallas Police officers
killed in the line of duty.

* In 2016, the NFL threatened to fine players who wanted to
wear cleats to commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11.

So please tell me again how the NFL supports free speech and
expression. All of a sudden it seems quite clear, based on the
above facts, that the NFL has taken a position against any
action by NFL players demonstrating RESPECT for any issue:
For God, social causes such as mental health, cancer, domestic
violence, for cops killed arbitrarily for being cops, for the
Memory of 9/11...

BUT, they will allow demonstrations of DISRESPECT for our
National Flag, our National Anthem, for America , and for
the American People ... if it will help mollify a particular
group and its supporters. That is who and what the NFL
now has shown itself to be.

Please pass this post along to all your friends and family.

Honor our military ... too many of whom have come home
with the American Flag draped over their coffins.

These players are too stupid to realize that only in America could they get the opportunity to earn the over paid money they are getting. What are they protesting? Slavery; that has no bearing today, lack of jobs? Black unemployment is lower than ever.Black murder rate? More killed by other blacks than any other race. How many black kids that don't know who their father is. Don't get me wrong, there are many black folks that are fine upstanding people, but these that kneel or hold up their fist are not and should be fired on the spot. I love football, but I'm done with the NFL.
