I don't think this is uncommon. Judge figures girl was "asking for it" because of dress and/or behavior. To many young women are too trusting. Another problem many young women have is they believe they can physically, with violence, stop an assault by a larger stronger male without injuring him critically. Only one real good way for a female to be protected from a male. That's a firearm and the knowledge of how and when to use it.

I haven't read the whole thread, but I did see some mentioned self defense course. I would highly recommend it. Male or female should look into a good course in real life martial arts/ self defense. That way your daughters will have a better understanding of what to do if someone grabs her, AND probably be able to hurt the attacker. If anything it will give her more self confidence!!!

Can of hornet spray. It's a little bulky but anything that will knock a bald face hornet down will take care of any attacker!!!

Some of them little purse sizes hair spray cans can be refilled with whatever you have around wasp spray like scout1 said, oven cleaner any nasty thing you can think of!
