Well done Wistrapper! Keep them informed show them your catches and it will grow even more! WTG Exactly what I was thinking LD. I have sent cards with a few pics of catches enclosed after the season or at Christmas. Its surprising how appreciative land owners are when I take the time to do that. As far as keeping them informed, I like to drop them a line or give them a call and let them know when I'm going to be there about a week ahead of time. As well as ask about dogs, other people with permission to hunt, fish etc. during the time I will be trapping.

Text them a pic if you have their numbers and carry a jar of fence staples in your rig and few in a lure carrier for fence repairs they see a yote in a pic and see it's on their place they take pride in that soon you will be "their trapper" when they talk about you. LOL Fix a fence or two and your part of the family then!

I stopped at a new farm today to ask permission, I got permission on his 400acre farm. After talking for a while another truck pulled in. So I said thank you and started to walk to my truck. The farmer said wait a minute and said this guy needs a trapper, I got his 250 acre farm 2 miles a way. Then they started taking about other people in the area that need trappers. I have a list of farms I want to stop and talk to, I knocked 4 of those farms off my list with one stop. Keep them informed show them your catches and it will grow even more! WTG This is excellent advice. I send "thank you" letters to all my landowners at the end of each season and include catch numbers and sometimes pictures. Quite a few of them have referred me to to nearby landowners.
Eh...wot?
