The 870 has been looking rough, the finish on the stock about gone in spots. So I decided to refinish it. I started with a chemical stripper. Then steel wooled, plastic scraper, and tooth brushed that off. Used mineral spirits to stop the stripper and clean it. Then 400 grit sandpaper, and I used a iron to raise a couple dents. Alcohol to clean it all off then a coat of american wall nut stain. I think it turned out pretty nice. Just need to get some true oil to finish it off. I'm excited to show the boy and let him know it's officially gonna be his shotgun now. Time to give it to him.

I think she will look very nice once a few coats of oil have been rubbed in. You boy is going to cherish that scattergun for sure.

Let's go Brandon

I'll tell Zach when I give it to him to treat it nice, but I'm sure it will be stuck in the mud duck or goose hunting sometime soon!

The tru oil finish is coming along nicely. A few more coats and it should be ready to reassemble.
