2018 Annual Convention
The 2018 New York State Trappers Association Convention & Sportsman Show will be held Aug. 30th thru Sep. 1st 2018
The Grounds & Dealer Buildings will be open 12PM - 5PM Thursday & 8AM - 5PM on both Friday & Saturday
It will be held at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds in Frankfort NY

General Admission: $10
Cost of admission is $10 for the weekend regardless of how many days you attend
Free to anyone under 16
RV Campers: $20/Camper/Night (Electric Included) NOTE: No Reservations Required
Primitive Camping: $15/night (+$8/night with electric hook up) NOTE: No Reservations Required
Lodging can be found in Utica, NY or Herkimer, NY both are ten minutes from the fairgrounds.

I went to a Rendezvous there in Herkimer once about 10 years ago, what a great bunch of people.
I thought it was like back in the late 70's fur boom there were so many selling and buying and the demo's were the best. We all had a great time. I'm planning to make it to the MO.Rendezvous this September. Just hanging out with fellow trappers for a few days is food for the soul. Hope you all have a safe and fun time where ever you go.

First time going this year and the family and I are going to be tenting to get on another camping trip

Does anyone know if fires are permitted on grounds ? Just checking to see if I should pack a containment for one. Thanks

Fires must be contained in one of those things that keeps them up off the ground. Can't for the life of me remember what they are called right now. I think technically they want them no less than 18 inches above the ground, as not to harm the grass.

When is the auction?

Auction would be on Friday night. I think it starts about 7 usually. Saturday night is the Chinese auction.

We just got in and settled at about 5 so everything was closed up when we got here but we are having a good dinner and getting ready for tomorrow. I hope to meet some new people and learn lots.

I have watched most of the demos and walked through the 3 building's about 6 times and walked the outdoor vendors too and every time I see something new. This is on top of my list for next year. Nysta has done a great job with this show I only dream of our show in NH being half this big.

Attendance yesterday was very high. I'll see if I can get some more pics today. Hard to get away when by yourself.

Was there Fri. Place was packed. Would like to know numbers when over but there must have been over 200 vendors?

I have a sick beagle that needs my attention 24/7 right now, or I'd be there. I'm only 25 miles away. He's my best bud, so It's a small price to pay. Have a good time, everybody.

walleyed was there all Day Friday.

worked until midnight on Thursday, then drove the 90 Miles down in the dark on empty roads.

Got there at 2:00AM and snoozed in the vehicle until 6:30AM.

Dealer Buildings opened at 8:00AM.

By Noon The Building were Packed with Trappers, and the roadways thru the tailgater's section

were well attended. Every seminar I watched had at Least 50 t0 80 people watching.

Got To Heckle Mark Zagger During His Demo. Met Trapping Rock Star Phil Brown in person and his

Trapline Dog; FRANKIE!!!

Pustin ArseOnMonday was a No-Show.

Bought 20 Belisle #220 Dogs, and a couple Adirondax #330 Bulls-Eye Circle Triggers From WCS,

and picked up a #44 Blake & Lamb Double Long Spring For $20.00 which I left

with Tom Stalker for Numerous Modifications For Beaver Trapping.

Went to The Camp Flat Iron Trapper's Cookout Fundraiser for a couple Hours

and then headed Home.

I thought Friday was at least as well attended as What we Have seen

At the Herkimer Convention for the last Eight years.

Good time was Had By All.

Don't have a clue how I missed you Bob. hung out at the flat iron and witnessed the good graces of fellow traps generously donate to the flat iron meal and auction to raise 3 grand for the kids. A big thanks to Von, Zagger and the whole Flat Iron Gang for another great weekend.

It's good to know that the "party" that was going on most of the night was for a great cause. It was my first time and I was thinking man these ny trappers like to party. But i see now it's all for a good cause.good job guys and keep up the good deeds and hard work.

Saquelie. Thank you for the invite. It was my first time going to the show and I definitely had more fun than the rest of the family did. The kids didn't want to watch any demos on Friday so the wife was keeping them busy so I could. It was a great experience and I am ready for next year. It was also great to meet the BOSS and he gave the wife a sample of Skeeter pee. Coming from NH the conventions I go to in Maine are good and we are trying to get the NH convention bigger but it's hard to get a crowd to come. There was no shortage of people at this convention. It was a busy place all weekend. I got it sit in on most of the demos and it was great to listen to Dunlap and Harry from f&t and Clint zagger and all the others. We just don't have a draw to get the big names yet so it was an amazing experience. Thank you all for all your hard work dedicated.

Zaggman had to go to the bathroom,for like an hour,so he made me "sit" at his stand.Got to meet the famous muskrat trapper from NY,--Wallyed for the first time.Great time,and good food.

I may attend the Zagman U course next year to get a lure discount

Forget it! When you and I shook hands and had that first awkward hug in your booth as we finalized your first Academy, I decided to buy two shirts and a hat.

Let's say retail on those three items was $45.00.........well, you charged me $45 dollars!

I mean.....we JUST hugged! Then me, you, and Rusty got our pic taken behind your booth by Miss Donna.
