I found this little trap in a box of junk. Just wondering what it is. Thank You. Scott

You have a Escape Proof No 1 One hole model by Briddell, they also made a seven hole model

Awesome. Yours is in a lot better shape than mine. Thank You. I might take it out and catch a muskrat with it and then hang it up in the cave.

Thanks to ddfen2 for the reply and to Scott T, that is an excellent idea. Numerous trappers purchase an older Newhouse, Triumph or Diamond double longspring, catch a coyote with it and then hang it to look at. One of the premier collectors of triumph traps catches his marten and fisher each year with Triumph traps that are nearly one hundred years old. What a thrill to add that feature to your trapping experience.

Nice Single Hole Don. Thanks for posting it. Great pan, they don't come much better.

The feature that I think I can read on Don's trap pan that is very interesting to me is where it says manufactured under Animal Trap Co patents on the top of the pan. I have both one and seven hole variations with that message and that means that the traps were made after the rights had been purchased from Briddell by ATC. I had generally been under the impression that when ATC bought out companies they may have used up the parts on hand in some fashion(such as assembly of "mystery barrel traps") but the trap pictured above was actually manufactured after such purchase. My one hole is marked where Don's is but my seven hole is stamped on the bottom where most Briddells are marked PAT PEND.

Great information. I was happy to find it. It's to rusty to be worth anything but will look good on the wall.
