I purchased an adapter for when I tent camped with my CPAP machine. It works very well and the whole deal with cords and all was about $25. I use it for playing the radio etc. when I am out in the fields etc. and not have to run the auto or drain the battery. I use it on the same batteries I use for my electric trolling motor.
It is just a simple AC/DC converter.

Thanks for the info. I got my cpap machine. I intend to start using it tonight. Tell me more about cleaning it, including cleaning the hose. How best to clean everything, and how often? The respiratory therapist couldn't quit stressing the importance of keeping it clean, largely to avoid harmful bacteria. I went with the mask instead of the nasal piece.

Funny...I just brought my testing machine home tonight. I have been waiting a month to get it. Hoping it helps with my fatigue and brain fog....we'll see.

Just happy to be here.

I have purchased two machines. I now own three. A company named Second Wind will sell you a reconditioned machine and set it to your specs. Cost about 1/3 the price of a new one. My most recent machine is a mini cpap with a battery. I travel with it on airplanes, etc. My first machine was bought by insurance. Still works after 15 years.

I do the same as TD. Would really like and expert opinion on the so clean that cleans them using ozone. If it works according to companies or doctors for sure.

I don't clean mine at all. Just replace the hose once a year and the mask as needed.

I clean mine all the time, if not I get sinus infections real easy. I change the filters and clean them up every couple of weeks.

I try to remember to clean mine every 1-2 weeks. I soak in hot water with a cup of vinegar for an hour or so and then wash parts with soap and water and let dry. I replace parts as needed which if more often than I thought. Through Medicare those costs are covered or by my supplemental insurance.

Very interesting stuff here. I have been using a cpap for several months now. Have had a lot of problems. Biggest is that the outfit that has the contract is about 200 miles from my home. I've had a lot of problems, I can't get help over the phone, and they only come to my home town every two months or so. Then they won't even look at it. I finally got the guy to look at it, and he found 4 or 5 things wrong with it. He fixed it up, but it's not much better. It leaks, comes off easily, comes apart easily, and it's getting worse. The harness makes my face so sore I can't sleep, but I finally found another place only 50 miles from home, I'm trying to switch over to them, but It's been two weeks now and hasn't happened yet. The saga continues. Good luck.

Clean my tube and parts with dish soap and hot water every Sunday. Rinse the nasal pillow and tank with hot water nightly. Can’t imagine being without it now. Great sleep compared to what I used to get.

Companies who provide breathing machines are notorious for not following up with customers. They claim to provide great service, and do nothing because they do not get paid for service. They get paid per machine per month plus the supplies they sell.

Apria is a national company and they have franchises. In my opinion, they are the worst.

If you are diagnosed with a condition requiring a breathing machine, use it or something very bad may happen! Maybe even wake up dead, or worse - a stroke, or severe heart damage, or brain damage, or your thing might fall off.

Best wishes.

Full face mask, cpap, and oxygen concentrator for me. Wow, what a difference a good nights sleep makes in tomorrow.

Seems like some do fine with the nasal ones and others need a full face mask. Maybe pros/cons to both.

Here's 1 thing I'm confused about: the respiratory therapist told me to not use the water from my home reverse osmosis unit. Is distilled h20 that much different than from a RO unit?

I had the test, seemed like there was too much air, felt overwhelmed with it, 4:30 ami quit and went home with a sore throat. My dad sleeps with a couple tennis balls in a sleeping shirt, I try to only sleep on my side, I should try the tennis balls, oh my dad is 82

Yes difference in water. Use distilled due to chemicals, hard water etc.
Apria has been my supplier for 8 years and really good to work with.
