Never going to fix it when some clueless fool in a black robe can be influenced by idiots that know less then he knows while they ignore the Game Depts. and biologists that do know what they are doing and they are the ones putting in all of the work!

That's exactly it. If the DNR would come out and say how may wolves there really are, the feds and all involved would much more likely delist.
Trappers are trapping an average of 200 wolves per year on damage complaints, so we are supposed to believe there are only 2600 wolves? That would mean trappers are catching almost 10% of the total population every year just on damage control. What a bunch of crap, the main wolf range isn't even in farm country!

Having trapped wolves for the state, i can attest to the fact that there is an increase but its a lot larger than they want us to believe. I personally dont believe that we will see a season in the near future. In fact, I sold all of my wolf trapping equipment to a gentleman from MI. If you think you will do a lot of trapping wolves for the state you'd better have all the CO's in your country in your back pocket. The last time there was only about 5-10 that did much trapping. The rest paid their money and never got called,
Then their is the paperwork to get paid. About 5 pages of forms to fill out and then we got only $150 a wolf. No mileage, no equipment supplied, 24 hr trap checks.
Get together and demand what the Feds get. They get about $5000 a wolf. The State has a significant budget for this and they just about always run out of money. Enough said !!!
