I’ve searched the forums but due to the 3 year limit on searches I wasn’t able to find anything. I also scanned through the Archives to no avail.
As I say often, I am completely new to everything. I have a crossbow for sale and have been offered a lot of trapping equipment as a partial or full trade. One of the items is a Blue English Fleshing System. So of course I have questions for those who are in the know.
1. Do you like it? 2. Are you able to skin other animals besides coon on it?
As for other questions I’m sure that I will have them but for now that’s all that I can think about. I like the idea of not bending over for a long time and having a sore back.

Thanks Pasadena, I appreciate it. There was one post on there that was good. The others I saw in the archives.
I’d still like to catch the attention of others who may have this fleshing system to talk about it.

Thanks Death. I hope that I’m able to invest in one.

I guess I'm just old school and can't see any benefit to this system.
On a beam with a flip of my knife In can reposition my hide to where I'm comfortable with my reach. How do you do that with a BEFS?
If you have shoulder problems your SOL. I just can't see myself standing up with my arms above my head trying to work a fleshing knife. I guess I just can't see how you can have complete control of your knife.
But If It works for you go for It. I just think for a new guy just starting out In the skin game a horizontal beam would be the way to go.

So It's In the vertical position now? Right now it is set up like a normal beam at an angle. I have a stand built for it so I can move it around, but when I build my shed next month, it is getting a permanent home in the shed, and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna try it horizontal and see if it’s any easier on my back. Mine is not a BEFS.

I see. Your beam Is know at a horizontal angle. So your going to have it flat and raise It up so your not bending so much. Or maybe you should raise the angle up a bit. And move the hide back toward you more often so your not over reaching. Leaving a hide completely stretched out on the beam and bending and reaching Is bad on the old back. You might look into one of those anti fatigue matts. That might give you some relief. Or one of those lifting belts might help.
Good luck.

I bought one of these systems several years ago. I am wanting to set it up, but I have lost the instructions with all the set up measurements. If anyone has a copy and wouldn't mind sharing please post it or send me a PM. Thanks

Let me try reaching out one more time. If you don't have the instructions, can someone with the system already set up get some of the measurements from yours? Please. Just hate to have this nice, and expensive system sitting in the box.
I would truly appreciate any help yall could give me !
