I saw a Generator for sale here in the local ads and am looking for one of that size. Its a Troy Built 7000 watts . I would use it to power my tool trailer. Not on a day to day basis. But just to run the lathe or welder, trill and saws I have. I have never had anything made by them. So I am wondering if its any good. Its new and for a very good price. They bought it for the hurricane that never happened a couple of moth back and don't have the room to keep it.

We have a tiller that we bought new several years back. Starts usually first or second pull. Down side is the Tecumseh motor has a lot of blow by. Shoots oil out of the dipstick even since new. If generator was used some will over tax them that causes damage so check it out under load to make sure.

As I said, this thing has not run. Its just unpacked and was waiting to get some fuel in it when the power went out and that never happened when Michael went by us. So now its taking up room in their garage and they want it gone.

Make sure that the 7000 watts is running watts & not surge watts if you need the full 7000 to run.

Go bigger than the minimum requirements. Consider a tri-fuel delivery.

If I was buying a generator and couldn't get a Honda I'd not get one save my money and then get a Honda. lol.

I have a Troy built generator with a Subaru motor. Its a 5000 running Watts and 6250 starting. Have had it for 5 years and it has 300 running hours of service. Changed the oil as instructed[ 100 hr] and start it once a month for 20 minutes. Starts within 4 pulls[ first one is with switch off]. Has always been run with Stabil Lite.
Have a 2900 sq ft home that is propane on furnace,water heater, an coking. It runs the well pump, sump pumps, house lights, tv and other. We do keep things to a minimum.
No problems with it and it was purchased at Home Depot.
