The rut seems a little late this season around here. What say U about this?

I'm thinking it was a little late here also. WT seem to just have started what I have seen. A few days ago they didn't seem interested but yesterday I seen movement. IMO

My son has been hunting in Kansas for the last week. He has much video of bucks breeding does and some videos of several bucks chasing one doe. Much video of individual bucks roaming..

This cold Weather hit perfect on Missouri Opening Rifle this weekend. There has been some Dandy bucks shot up here. Lots of big deer moving and rutting up in this cold.

Deer rut same time every year.
Hot/ cold weather can and does influence daytime movement.

seen more dead bucks on the road side in the last 2 weeks than in the previous 11 months combined

2 weeks ago the bucks were the thickest , this last week it seemed to be a lot more doe like the bucks were chasing them into the road , but still all running around stupid , I am just hoping it lasts till next week during gun season Saturday morning I hope they still got an extra case of the hot to trots and are running around all foolish during the day.

Was right on time here. Big bucks are staying with the doe they found then searching for the next one.

for this year i'm going to say a little ahead of schedule if there is such a thing. i saw more activity from November 2-8th or so than normal and less since then when in most years i see a peak around the 10-13th. but i suspect most of it is just what i happen to encounter at a particular time

Been going for two weeks here in the SE Kansas. They have been real hot the middle of last week. I seen several buck fights last week while two or more bucks chasing does. Have not seen any real big bucks though most seem to be younger bucks.

Have not seen the mature bucks out in daylight looking for a new doe yet. I imagine they are all busy with the first estrus does. Normally they are cruising by the 12th.

The " deer-rut" is the same EVERY year!!.
Kept track for many years and year in- year out, the main breeding " rut" is Nov 8-18 th.
Young bucks start " rutting" / chasing early. Doesn't mean the rut has started.
The rut has started when you start seeing fawns alone wandering like their lost.
Mom's away pinned down with a buck doing thier thing.
Moon phase,temp,humidity,ect be damnned..
The VAST majority of does will be breed in a timeframe relitive to your area every year!

The road kill here always coincides with the major leaf fall. Likely this little snow today will strip enough laves to cause deer to go crazy. I think they feel suddenly naked.
