My state team is relevant every year and one of the 10best in the country every year out of 135 teams. I’ll take it and root for them every year, wish we could play Georgia ina bowl game though.

Yea Ga and ur team would be a good way to answer the question. How would OH-CRY-O do against a great defense. NOT mich that was rated playing against a conference that has not had a top 4 team in 2 years. Plus when they got there couldn't score a point. Having a high rated defense or offense can be deceiving in the way it is done. If you play jr high school talent then you should be able to hold them to low scoring. Or score a lot of points.

Plus not just Bama fan but SEC . You guys puffed and strutted about the preseason but it didn't last long. Don't need a life coach got all of the great outdoors to direct me. Just love to rub it in to people faces that sometimes think they are the only ones in this world. I GET MY FEEL OF BUCKEYE FANS in my town when they roll onto the lake here. Six conferences plus the independents had a better record in bowl games last year than the SEC, So you SEC fans should know all about jr high talent. You seem to have your share.

I’m not really a football fan, are there many fans that act as immature and rude as jbyrd or is he in a class of his own? Seriously, he acts like HE’S actually accomplished something while all he’s done is sit on the couch. Or perhaps its another 12 year old?

I think an 8 team matchup is a good idea. It would make it harder to claim there was a bias for or against the teams selected. Plus college football is a huge moneymaker and the additional games should lead to additional revenue.

People by nature, have a tribal mentality. Athletics have somewhat took the place of warfare and supporting a sports team has somewhat taken the place of supporting an army.

I have never been a big sports fan, but I do watch some college football. It's the only sport I watch besides the Olympics and the occasional rare fight.

I have seen probably half the Ohio State games this year. Ohio State is local to me. My brother went to medical school there, as did a lot of cousins and other relatives. When Ohio State does well, overall, people in my area are visibly happier than normal.

Oklahoma is my second favorite team. I have enjoyed watching them play for years.

I miss the days many moons ago when there were no playoffs nor championship games.
Every team played in their respective bowl games, then, we as fans, got to argue who the real national champion was. There was a belief in each of us about who the real champion was, and that belief never wavered in spite of the opinions of the "experts" who claimed some other team was the champion.
This system provided us empowerment. That empowerment provided us with emotional cover in case our team was "robbed!"
I don't care if there are 16 playoff games. Good teams capable of beating the highest ranked team in the nation are going to be left out.

8 team, polls, draw straws I could care less. Alabama would still dominate and two to three other SEC schools would be right there with them in the top ten every year. Year in and year out.

Go ahead and keep changing and rigging to find a way to eliminate Bama and the SEC and we'll just keep on keeping on.
BTW, the second most dominant team of the playoff era? A southern team that's not big flop whatever coached by an Alabama alum. They'll keep on keeping on as well, at least until Dabo gets called home to Bama.

Guess your from the big ten area also. What was the SEC record in bowls that MATTERED???? 3-1 and the one loss was from another SEC team. THOSE other bowls as you point out the ONLY people that care about them are the teams playing in them. Bet you money that EVERY team's fans that is not playing in the champ play offs will have to google when , where , and who they play. The bowls that count will be broadcast every day until they are played.

Reading back over the entire thread I find it amazing the state listed beside all the comments saying I'm rude / immature. Maybe some people are more sensitive. I bet their "life " coaches are keeping them intouch with their feminine side.

SEC first. As for Ky don't like Stoops. Do like Saban and how he coaches. Since Bama is the only SEC team playing in a game that matters I'll cheer for bama. Haven't you heard I'm the number one cheerleader. Heck the big 10 boys are going to send me their dust covered pom poms since they haven't used them in 4 years !!!! (didn't have much to shake them for in shutout games)
