I am new to trapping and was given some Hiawatha Valley, Yodel dog, Violator 7, and MN brand coyote urine. I was told it was purchased last year. I believe they kept it in the garage since then. All of it is still sealed like new. My question is..... Are these all still good? I ask because I am not sure how hot it got over the summer in the garage. Thanks for the help!

Short answer, lures are preserved so that they should never go bad, (or get better) and need no refrigeration; the exception being that skunk essence may seem to disappear.
The urine may be better than when new depending on how it was handled, it will be at least as good as when purchased.
I have some lures that may be over 30 years old and they still stink.

Looking at my last NAFA sales, it looks like 2012 or so was the last time I trapped or bought lure/bait/urine.

I kept everything outside in a somewhat sealed bucket.

Like was said, the only thing I thought smelled "off" was the stuff that had skunk in it...call lures etc. The skunk was missing.

A lot of tops rusted....Gusto lid rusted clean through and spilled into my hand when I got it out last week....i immediately wanted to run from my own hand because it's typically a very powerful skunk smell.....gone. Didn't stink at all. I bought a few new bottles of my skunky lures. The rest seem fine.

Skunk essence will dissipate over time. Your skunky lures that no longer smell skunky is normal for that length of time. You can add some skunk essence and bring that odor back to life. Skunk essence is very corrosive, and that's why the lid crumbled.

Taste a little. It should tingle on your tongue. If not try a little bigger helping. If still no tingle then replace. grin

I have nothing clever to put here.
