We hatched one on Christmas day last year. It seemed to pair with my youngest boy Gabriel. We kept it in the house all winter by itself. By spring it thought it was one of our kids. It would jump up on Gabe's shoulder and hiss at everything that got close to him. Crazy! We let it out 2nd week of spring once temp broke 40 deg at night. That night it dropped back to 20 deg and it died. 1st night out after two weeks of 40s and that night it dropped just long enough to kill it.

But in this venue, it is not untoward to speculate. So I might suggest you whisper sweet nothing's in the chick's ears. The one that flock towards you are probably females. And there may be a few males mixed up in that group. Don't worry about that. You can sort them out later. Explain to them that this is an unnatural attraction. Then cut the head off them and eat them.
