I set a conibear box in this location every year. It has always been a pretty good spot, and I drive by the location every day on my way to town. I stopped by this evening and could tell the box had been moved from its normal position, I walked out to it and was pleasantly surprised by what I found over the hill! The first picture is just as I found it, in the second photo I had moved the catch to get a better photo if it

Nice coyote. I have only seen it happen twice. I will add I do get several where the screen is ripped loose form the back.

I agree Scott! Have a couple coyote storys. Had a friend that hadn't ever heard of making cubbies like that to catch coons. When I enlightened him, he said, "you ought to be able to catch coyotes that way"' I said, not a chance. The next year he caught one, and I thought he would never let up on me! Read my signature! The other one, when I was in Wy trapping, and the rancher beat me out to go feeding at daylight. They kicked out a yote, and his boarder collie that was young and fast, run that coyote under my toyota and had him bayed there! My guns were in the yota, so I walked up to the door as easy as I could, reached in and grabbed a gun. What I grabbed was my 243, and I really wanted my 22. About then the yote had enough, and broke out from under the truck. It wasn't that coyotes day, as he ran straight into a sheep fence that went around the old shack I stayed in. I knew I didn't have much time, so I just shot the yote with the 243. The dog said thank you, and went back to the ranchers pickup, but They harrassed me pretty hard about how they had to herd the coyotes to the trapper! Good times!

I'm surprised it killed the coyotes, I've seen fox and coyote survive a 220 not with a Belisle 220 trap

Trappercass - That is a great looking coyote, good job.
Lee - That Wyoming story really made me smile.

There are always odd catches like that each year on the trapline.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

I've caught two or three coyotes in 280 conibears while water trapping.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!
