I've never been on FB so I can't make a comparison. But the method for posting pictures here is the same as it has been for quite a while. Just use the correct icon and it's a piece of cake..................unless you are talking about posting from a phone. I can't comment on that either because I don't have a phone.

If you are having a Photo upload issue... Slow down and LEARN a 3 step process that works.

Its almost Always a "Too large of size picture, if youre havi g problems from your phone. " problem that can easily be fixed with a Free pict. Resizer ap. If its a problem sending them from your computer then just edit the pixel size.

You think there's infighting and defamation sometimes here...just wait until youve been on a FB supposed sports site for a while. You can have those FB sites .....

Seems simple enough, don't put anything on facebook that you don't want to be public. I enjoy both, they are just different. I do get tired of scrolling past all the drama to get to the interesting posts. But we have some good discussions on hide tanning and such on facebook.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

I've never been on Facebook, but I keep getting emails that says "A lot has happened since you've been on Facebook." I think my wife might have signed me up. That's about the only thing I don't like about her. grin

A lot different. Trapperman doesn't harvest and sell your personal data so that you can receive targeted advertising. As Patrice said above, there is a lot going on below the surface of Google, GMail, and Facebook. None of it is good.

We know beyond a doubt that those businesses have political viewpoints. That's all well and good. I don't have a problem with that. But we also know that most often, their viewpoint is opposed to our liberty. Why help them destroy what we cherish ?

I don't trust Facebook or Twitter! Our President should give up that nonsence.

At this time there are 397 people looking at Tman. I don't know how that compares to facebook sites.

One big advantage on forums, well ones you pay for some trapping sites are free forums and your always vulnerable to company shennanigans, is that the post order makes sense. Facebook makes no sense whatsoever I how posts are displayed under a group.

Bad or good thing about Facebook is that people can't hide under anonymity, which strikes ne funny when you see people post the exact question here on tman or other forums then do the same on Facebook.

Trapperman served the needs of the trapper for good information long before facebook began. It remains a very active place for trappers to share information with fellow trappers so the 400 members on trapperman today mean more to me for trapping information then 400 Million folks talking everything on facebook. Great moderators and my opinion a very safe place on the WWW.

Facebook is for learning that the cheerleader you used to drool over in high school now looks like she ate the one that was hot.

I agree with this. Young people are on facebook, so to me, it makes sense that trapping organizations should utilize it to appeal to the next generation of trappers. The thing is, you need to be active on it, otherwise it makes your "page" and organization seem lame. Maybe organizations can have one or two people agree to post something once every couple weeks or so.

I am apart of a handful of trapping pages, the biggest having 41,700+ members. I like the facebook pages to look at photos mainly, but to actually learn things and be apart of real discussions with seasoned trappers, TM can't be touched!

Both are enjoyable for different aspects.

X2 for sure

People also get ripped apart real bad on Facebook. I saw one guy post that he didn’t agree that with posting pictures of animals in traps in which the traps could be seen. Because they could be seen and used by antis. There were probably 500 comments ripping on this guy for his opinion.
I don’t know if maybe the moderators boot people that are just on to be jerks here on Tman, but there’s definitely of name calling on Facebook for little reason.
I also think that sometimes people don’t look through to many comments to see if someone has already written the same thing. So you end up with comment after comment of people basically saying the same thing.

The Pennsylvania Trappers Association has a Facebook page but they aren't active on it. the last post was March 2018.

I am a member of the closed group PA Trappers. 6,248 members and very active right now. At lot of young members with a lot of questions but a good number of experienced trappers too.

Tman and Facebook are the two sites I frequent most and I agree with DROCK, both are enjoyable for different aspects.

As far as data mining, it's the internet, don't put anything on it you don't want shared with or without your consent or knowledge.

Tman posts come up on google searches all the time. I'm not sure if they would for anybody who's not a member though.

Eh...wot?

I don't think that forum based sites like trapperman will ever go away. There is and will be a need to exchange information between like minds in a detailed manner. Youtube is fine if you want to find out what such and such is, but they bring up as many questions as they answer. That's why forum sites are indispensable.
And in defense of newbies, sometimes it isn't as easy to find the answers you want by going through the archives. Remember that new means "knows nothing". Sometimes you don't know what to search for. A lot of folks on here use euphemisms or trapper shorthand when they talk about things. Example: when I want to know how to keep opossums out of my traps, I might not know to do a search for "grinners". Or if someone wants advice on a lure for "rats", I think sewer rodents, not muskrats. Even though I have been able to decipher most of it on my own, not everybody can. So they ask. Please don't fault them for being inquisitive.
I came here and have stayed here because trapperman has an incredible amount of information, folks who don't mind sharing their knowledge and makes me feel like I'm a member of a community. I am safe to voice my opinions or ask my mundane questions.
Thanks for that. It's rare today.

A lot of T-man stuff on Google search. Most not good though. Lot of haters out there.
Facebook is a joke, you people need to wake up. They mine and sell all the information on you.
Medical, financial and anything of yours to make them money.
Foolsbook what a joke

I am really offended by this post. This is sexist and bigoted hate speech! This promotes cannibalism and and objectifies women and makes it sound like their only worth is what they look like! bla bla bla.

Lol, sorry couldn't resist, just wanted to demonstrate some Facebook for you non users. Carry on.
