Seems simple enough, don't put anything on facebook that you don't want to be public. I enjoy both, they are just different. I do get tired of scrolling past all the drama to get to the interesting posts. But we have some good discussions on hide tanning and such on facebook.
Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

Trapperman doesn't harvest and sell your personal data so that you can receive targeted advertising. As Patrice said above, there is a lot going on below the surface of Google, GMail, and Facebook. None of it is good. We know beyond a doubt that those businesses have political viewpoints. That's all well and good. I don't have a problem with that. But we also know that most often, their viewpoint is opposed to our liberty. Why help them destroy what we cherish ?

At this time there are 397 people looking at Tman. I don't know how that compares to facebook sites. 397 salt of the earth people....

Facebook is for learning that the cheerleader you used to drool over in high school now looks like she ate the one that was hot.

I think some state organizations need to get on the ball sharing to some of these Facebook pages because a lot of new trappers are going there first.
Conclusion: I think trapperman is better. Except for the picture posting.
I agree with this. Young people are on facebook, so to me, it makes sense that trapping organizations should utilize it to appeal to the next generation of trappers. The thing is, you need to be active on it, otherwise it makes your "page" and organization seem lame. Maybe organizations can have one or two people agree to post something once every couple weeks or so. I am apart of a handful of trapping pages, the biggest having 41,700+ members. I like the facebook pages to look at photos mainly, but to actually learn things and be apart of real discussions with seasoned trappers, TM can't be touched! Both are enjoyable for different aspects.

One big advantage on forums, well ones you pay for some trapping sites are free forums and your always vulnerable to company shennanigans, is that the post order makes sense. Facebook makes no sense whatsoever I how posts are displayed under a group.
Bad or good thing about Facebook is that people can't hide under anonymity, which strikes ne funny when you see people post the exact question here on tman or other forums then do the same on Facebook. X2 for sure People also get ripped apart real bad on Facebook. I saw one guy post that he didn’t agree that with posting pictures of animals in traps in which the traps could be seen. Because they could be seen and used by antis. There were probably 500 comments ripping on this guy for his opinion. I don’t know if maybe the moderators boot people that are just on to be jerks here on Tman, but there’s definitely of name calling on Facebook for little reason. I also think that sometimes people don’t look through to many comments to see if someone has already written the same thing. So you end up with comment after comment of people basically saying the same thing.

Both are enjoyable for different aspects. The Pennsylvania Trappers Association has a Facebook page but they aren't active on it. the last post was March 2018. I am a member of the closed group PA Trappers. 6,248 members and very active right now. At lot of young members with a lot of questions but a good number of experienced trappers too. Tman and Facebook are the two sites I frequent most and I agree with DROCK, both are enjoyable for different aspects. As far as data mining, it's the internet, don't put anything on it you don't want shared with or without your consent or knowledge. Tman posts come up on google searches all the time. I'm not sure if they would for anybody who's not a member though.
Eh...wot?

A lot of T-man stuff on Google search. Most not good though. Lot of haters out there. Facebook is a joke, you people need to wake up. They mine and sell all the information on you. Medical, financial and anything of yours to make them money. Foolsbook what a joke
That goes to pretty much any site that you dont pay to use.

Facebook is for learning that the cheerleader you used to drool over in high school now looks like she ate the one that was hot. I am really offended by this post. This is sexist and bigoted hate speech! This promotes cannibalism and and objectifies women and makes it sound like their only worth is what they look like! bla bla bla. Lol, sorry couldn't resist, just wanted to demonstrate some Facebook for you non users. Carry on.
