That biologist needs to do some research. There is no such thing as a "red wolf" species. Not to say that one cannot call a different looking coyote with gray wolf blood in it whatever one wants to so that one can differentiate it from other regular looking/behaving coyotes. The USFWS abandoned a multi-million dollar red wolf reintroduction project in North Carolina once recent advancements in DNA decoding showed them to be hybrids, of varying degrees, between coyotes and gray wolves. BTW, I have seen these animals up close, and they are remarkably different in appearance than a coyote. "Fine animal" describes it to a tee!

My wife owns a screen print and embroidery shop. Her patience guy came by yesterday. He had been at his property near Woodville Mississippi deer hunting. He checked his deer cams and there he is perfect picture of him in broad daylight. He told my wife in the past couple years they had heard them at night and sounded alot different than coyotes. I gotta learn how to put pics on here. They called biologist they confirmed it was definitely one. I have sent the pics to mark June and cletis Richards maybe they can post pics for y'all to see. Fine animal. Not trying to be a wise guy here but what is a "patience guy" ?? Maybe it's the guy who collects the vig? Osky

Red wolves are a coyote/grey wolf hybrid(per dna testing) in N C. You don’t want them. The USFW along with their conservation partner the red wolf coalition have used a hybrid mutt to milk the us taxpayers for $35 million plus all while limiting property rights. Whatever they tell you as far as any deal goes is purely a lie and they’ve got a federal judge that uses ESA to back them up. Google red wolf scandal. Better yet click on this link. Red wolf scandal

How ancient does the cross between grey wolf coyote have to be for them to become a red wolf? My understanding is there are thousands if not millions of animals running around with these genetics.
