For those who are attending the trapping and snaring school. Looks like It is going to be a wet weekend at this point. Looks like 35 to 45 day time temps. (we are at 18 right now as I write this LOL) calling for rain sleet and snow but most likely rain with those temps at Newts place along the east coast. So all who are attending make sure you have your rain gear and cold weather gear as we could drop into the 20's Sunday evening.

Cry me a river! I'm in Fairbanks where it was -47 on Friday evening. It has warmed up a bit since, but there is no rain in the forecast!

What is really scary for me is:

A: Flying to Newark, airport tonight and getting into that seething mass of humanity. And...

B. Thinking about being on the Garden State Parkway Friday and Sunday. In a snowstorm. Surrounded by idiots!

Other than that, I'm looking forward to the weekend and becoming a better trapper...

Pete

Pete: Don't worry about driving on the Garden State Parkway in snow. All those yuppie women have SUV's with 4 wheel drive so they can go 75 MPH with no problem! Just ask 'em. Gonna' rename that road to the No Farms Left In The State Parkway.
You better hurry and get to Hamburg if you want some coyotes, my dad is wiping them out in Sussex County, snared another one this morning. He is 90.

I've been on Hamburg Mtn most of the time since Nov 1. I've gotten a few myself.

I hadn't seen your dad in years, but I got to speak with him for a bit last February at the Skylands NWTF banquet at the Farmstead. I enjoyed it a lot and he had some of your bobcat photos with him!

Its been a bit of a rush getting ready. The wind blue last week. Not letting me get my nets out of the water. got 2 out yesterday. Gona TRY to get the other 3 out today. Will at least 2 ,because of the tide.

Thursday I fell off a ladder .Beleave I cracked or broke a rib.Pulling nets is no fun, even when you dont hurt.
Friday my best friend ,my dog Abe was killed on the paved road at the end of my lane. Hes first and only time he ever went up there. I'm heart broke about loosing him.Its been very hard on me.
Be glod when you guys get here. It'll take my mind off him.
May GOD be with you in your travels,to and from.

Newt, I thank you for all you do for trappers. Sorry to hear about your loss. Wishing you and Ron a great class and experience. May everyone arrive and return home safe. I regret I have conflicting activity that won't allow me to attend. Again thanks.

Yes, Dec. and Jan. is very slow.
You guys get the fish about a week before we do ,in Feb.
When your fish hit. The market drops the price.
Last year our fish hit Feb. 21. filled the fykes up for 7 days They could'nt hold more.
I cant set a Pound. So I made bigger fykes for this spring run.

Keep safe
