After fighting with my 22 250 for three seasons i bought a 223 and shoot 55gr soft points quarter size exits and drops em . Sold the 250 and bought more traps they will catch more fur in one season than i would see to shoot at in ten seasons anyway

I switched from the 22-250 to the 204 a couple years ago, and after carrying it around for quite awhile I put it away and have gone back to the 22-250. That being said most all the listed calibers are capable of tearing up fur depending on the shot that was made

I can't stop using my 204, all calibers will do damage, but I've yet to see the same from my 204 as I had with my 22-250's, shoot solids and them dogs just flip over, yea sometimes ya get a sew job, but nothing near what them larger 22's do. I was even shooting solids in them before I won my 204, as the frangibles were just to explosive.

I also will pick my shot when ever possible, you do most of the time have that when calling here.

I can't imagine going back to my 22-250's !

The bullets used in any small caliber are what's important.
Coyotes can take a lot to kill with the wrong bullet.
Vmax and such bullets are made for VARMINTS, coyotes ain't varmints!
A .204 shooting 35 Berger bullets is the cat's ...

I think im gonna go with the .204, seems like the best round. But what kind of scope would be best, what power, what brand, and i don't want to spend over $500.

Lol. Yeah, that topic can go many pages.
A .204 is a 300 yard round. No need for a high magnification scope.
A 3 x9 will do fine.
For your budget, a tried n true Leupold VX2.
Many decent scopes can be had for under 500.00

You and I sure do agree a lot. I have two 3-9 VX2's, had them for years, and have had no trouble with either.

Everyone has a best, it's like a trap which is better, well the caught paw don't know any different, neither does a shot dog,
but the user does.

.204 Ruger for sure. Love the .17 but ammo can be hard to find.

30/06 all the way 220 grainers. Being a lefty, I’m naturally deadly accurate out to about half a mile, freehand. I just put one over the top of the muzzle close to the eyes. Lays em out flat. I’m gettin a lil older now, may have to get a scope put on ole KillAll soon, any recommendations?

Get the right bullets!

Vortex on the scope, Leupold quality at 3/4 the cost. https://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-riflescopes-dbk-m-03p.html?_iv_code=VX-RS-D300-DBK-03-BDC - all you need for a .204

What's the best light/scope combo for night hunting
And I am right handed but left eye dominant
It has to be a good setup because I like to shoot them when they exhale
And keep it under 600$
