I had more foxes than usual at the house this year. I ended up with 11 and 10 were male and that seems to be the usual there. I almost never pick up female fox. Not really trying to catch fox but they kept getting in coyote sets so the population must be way up. The wet one had a bobbed tail and seemed like it was born that way or lost it really young..[Linked Image]

I have been running 4 double sets and they are all about a 100 yards apart since the first week of December and have caught 11 foxes and 8 coyotes in those sets on my farm and a couple dog proofs by a small pond about a 100 yards from my barn and I have scattered one or two here and there over the season and have caught 10 coons and at least 25 possums and probably 30. The possums have been so bad this year it is hard to keep any traps running. I have 3 snares about 20 feet apart about 60 yards form the barn and picked up two coyotes there. I used to run 10 snares in about 250 yards of fence but some guy come in and put a road in down the fence line and put a big house about 50 yards from my fence so it kind of wiped that out. I was getting 8 to 15 coyotes a year out of those snares. I have 2 cat sets about 400 yards from the barn by a creek and have got a cat there every year but one and have not got one this year and am running out of time. I usually run a few sets all season on the farm but started later than normal this year. I have had more flipped traps this year than ever from digging and think a big part of it is so much rain it is washing the bait and lure out of the ground and over the traps. After last weekends flood I had traps with all the cover and peat washed off them sitting in a flat pasture field. They just got some of the main roads back open this morning. RM Trapper you must be in a great cat area and I noticed you had several last year. Do you trap over several miles or just in a small area.

Good looking foxes Mike, I had some reds too but not a single
grey. Weird cause I used to get a lot of greys and very few reds.
I still can’t post any pictures.

I have only caught two grays at my farm and one in Grundy county. We called up a few using a rabbit late in the day. This was probably the best and worst coyotes of the year and the second one had mange. Had a weird year on coyotes also out of ten [Linked Image]

9 were female. It's usually about 50/50.

If I ever figure out how to post pictures from my phone, I'll share a few pics. Work, prices, and floods limited my trapping but I managed a few cats and coyotes.
