What did the coyote market look like? Good coyotes? How did the good ones sell?

That is a great otter price. Bet there will lots of otter at Klamath.

Eastern cat average seems a bit low but then it is hard to,judge not having seen the cats.

$1,000.00 on western Oregon cats??? Would have liked to have seen them. I wonder how far they traveled after being trapped......

Thanks for the report.

I know the guy that brought those cats and he's a straight shooter...so I think they're legit. Don said that they were the best western Oregon cats he'd ever seen. (Those would have been high cascade cats FYI).

I agree - High Cascades. A couple of cats that don't know and don't care where ODFW draws the line!! LOL

They have another sale coming up the end of March in Klamath Falls. March 21-22-23. Last trappers sale of the year in the western US. It is a clean up sale - which is good. Not only raw fur but antlers, traps, tanned furs, claws, etc. basically anything to do with wildlife is allowed. Lots of buyers - including those buying for the craft/tourist trade. That most likely is where the otter are going.

Plenty of time to ship for that sale. You might wait a few days before calling Don Nichols. Give him some time to recover from Prineville. Don has been helping at the OTC sales since they started in 1973. And like all of us - he isn't getting any younger. smile

I haven't seen the official sale report.

There were a few rats. Not enough to talk about. Prineville is mostly about cats and coyotes.

There will be more rats at Klamath on the 21-22-23

I think there were only 10 otters there. It was a tug of war between two small craft type buyers.

Don't know the official line on gray fox but one guy I know averaged $16 and change for a string of 17. Those would have been nicely handled goods.
