Was curious if they were even available commercially. 5# for $122. Does anyone up north know if these are farm raised or caught from the wild? I don't think I'd take $20+ a pound if I had any.

There are lots of places that sell wild caught perch fillets for $12.99 and up a pound. There are a fair number of yellow perch farms that sell farm raised perch. One of the perch farms is close to me and if I remember correctly they sell perch fillets for $8.99 a pound when they harvest their grow out ponds in the Fall.

The largest indoor trout farm, Freshwater Farms of Ohio, is near me too. They have a Fish and Shrimp Festival every year when the local freshwater prawns, trout and perch are harvested. It's a pretry big event with lots of food, tours and live music. They sell very large amounts of live freshwater prawns and processed trout and perch at it.

We serve Lake Erie Perch at out restaurant. The fishery is only 50 yards down the hill at the marina from us. I think were paying $5 a pound and the fisherman will let us know when they had a great catch and when it would be ready. We buy it all summer long until they pull the nets in Oct so we can have it through the winter. Sometimes we are the only restaurant locally that has any.

$17.99 per pound in Cleveland. (Seven Seas Seafood) located at Lorain and W168th Street, I may be off by a street or two. The perch are fresh not frozen. It's hit and miss for perch this past year. Fishing for them last year was a waste of time and minnows but the walleye are making a come back.

Perch fillets scaled with skin left on taste best to me. That is my favorite fish of all time. But if I don’t have any perch, walleye or halibut become my favorite.

I am out of all fish. I have not been able to buy any perch, walleye, or halibut all winter. Cannot find any. I will buy 10 pounds of commercially caught Lake Erie perch right now if I could find it.

Our angler limit here in South Dakota is only 15 but I cleaned a double limit today for myself and a friend(also a tman member) so have 3 meals to put away and VERY happy to get some as this winters weather has put a severe crimp in our lake access.

I also commercial fish for white perch. Our price has dropped to 80 cents per lb already. Starts out at 1.50 early until market saturates. Now I’m netting bunker, started few weeks early this year. Had 16 boxes today (40 lb boxes).
Yellow perch are commercially fished in MD but not around my parts, so no input on them.

I favor the white perch that come out of salt water, great flavor. I also really like yellow perch, but I don’t get many, only a few in April while crappie fishing in the river. Curious to see what others think
