Has anyone here built their own cell triggered gate? I have ordered components that I believe will work. I'm thinking gsm triggered actuator that drops the gate. If you have built one could you share your design ?
If it makes a track on this earth , I can catch it.

I found a few videos on YouTube. The best video has been removed for some reason.

I like the idea of the cell triggered gate vs the one way as you don't always catch the entire sounder resulting in educating the rest and we all know how much more difficult it is to catch an educated animal. I've never been involved in trapping pigs but find it to be an interesting subject with pigs being so intelligent. I wouldn't mind trying trapping pigs one day just to say I've done it. Just my 2 cents worth.

Well what I have heard Is you place about 90% of the bait away from the triggering device. The whole bunch heads for the major bait pile (greed) then as the pile grows smaller the pigs start scrounging around and that Is when the trap gets tripped. I was just told by a friend that he had 19 pigs In one trap. Then you leave those pigs penned up and go In and ambush the other pigs that are attracted to the trapped pigs. He has a cell phone rigged that calls when the trap Is sprung. But from what I'm told It's not springing the trap.

Interesting and makes sense. Still would like to give it a try one day but that would usually mean that we have a pig problem in the area and don't need that!

The problem lies where the 1st few nights, only the younger hogs are entering and will end up tripping the trap. I have been watching these piglets go in for 5 nights without the sows so far.
