For those who have worked with a brain base for canine lures, what are some good ingredients and additives have you found that work well in conjunction with rotted down brains?

I’ve heard they were a good base for getter gun formulas and Nick Wyshinski talked about adding rhodium to a brain base in his video.

I’ve heard of a few M44 lures that were brain based also Todd. Hopefully you get something worked up.

Old trapper I knew when I was a young man, would rot down brains in a coffee can. Nothing added. With 1080 everywhere , airplanes, gmen, and the fact that 100 coyotes would buy a top of the line 4wd pickup, coyotes were tough to get. There were not a lot of them and the ones alive were nervous. He would pick a spot in the sage brush. Plop out about a 1/4 cup of that stink, set traps in the sage brush gaps all around that smell. Catch them circling the bait which they were prone to do. I don't think he knew what a snare was.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Honey would be a good addition for a getter-type lure imo.
