More opportunity for the guys that show up to pretend their wants and desires reflect all trappers wants and desires. So who, In your opinion, should speak up for the trappers?

What most of 'em need is a size 14 boot up their hind end. Just as those evers voters need. Ah, right on cue Diggerman. Too bad your boy was too busy pleasing the Kochs to notice even Republicans were taking a dim view of his shenanigans.

There is nobody that speaks for all trappers. Each individual trapper speaks for himself. You should know this from when you beat other trappers on the mandatory trapper ed issue.

You said it best! Each individual trapper can attend this annual meeting tonight to speak and/or vote their mind.

I Emailed 50 some trappers last night. We will see If It does any good. Yea, right, good luck with that. My guess is there'll be more trappers on this tonight than in their county seat raising their hands for trapping, hunting and fishing. So that means you will be on here tonight while some of us are at the meetings. I did what I could If It helps great If not I tried. That's all you can do.

The online vote quickly proved to be as big a joke as I expected. I'm sitting here with a few guys at our county meeting. I could probably hear a pin drop. Tonight it's me and a few other guys (well, more than a few, but hardly any compared to last years). The apparent anti that shows up every year once again showed up with her possee. After repeatedly getting voted down for several years, she easily won election tonight. This online vote, as you may recall me saying in prior year(s), will probably lead to the end of CC. I don't doubt that the DNR portion of the hearing will last long into the future though, albeit online.
Think about the leverage we've now given anti's.
Sitting here shaking my head eager to head home after the meeting for a drink. There's so few people here it's hardly worth me speaking in support or opposed to a question to the tiny group in the room.

Beav, thanks for your effort getting people to attend. Ps. You probably like the proposed colony trap changes.

I was told that it was due to already having a really long season and by increasing the length of season, the success rate will climb and it will take even longer to get a permit. IMO, we should shorten it even more but take some time off the front end.
Not sure what our attendence was.... Maybe 60 in Winnebago. I know we had some folks just come to get the code so they could vote online but be counted in the county total. I need to go vote online now!
