Say someone told me that when you move your traps from one location to another, you should redeye them before setting in a different location. I never have before. But maybe I should?

I'll take them by the carwash for a quick rinse

Even if you did not have a catch?

Unless you feel they might have gotten contaminated some way, I wouldn't bother.

I don't bother with it if I haven't made a catch with the trap.

I like a clean trap at a new set. to me a trap that didn't hit is still clean. I have more than once rubbed a trap off good with dirt and reset it someplace else. yes sometimes it will get dug up but you would be surprised how often it will hit again.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

When I move a trap that has made a catch I carry some of the catch circle dirt with me and add this dirt to the new set. Now the trap and the set smell the same. It doesn't take much catch circle to just top dress the new set.

Like stated above if it’s not contaminated with bait or lure just reset it.

Just reset it, assuming you don't contaminate it during transport
