Yeah, I'm weird. I kill those for the food. Stopped caring about antlers when I was about 20 years old.

To each his own.

I agree with Calvin.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Y'all make sure to watch that video that Uncle Ted made on that other post! "Spike buck: shoot or pass!"

I would pass and let him grow up. He has two years yet to grow a polished set. The winter was hard last year, and this one should be not as rough. He can pass his genetics as this is the first year he has reached maturity enough to start growing a rack like that. It is always a gamble with some wide eyed child popping him when he is chasing does, but if your location is secure, I would pass.
I passed on bigger than this buck non typical last year as conferring with a neighbor that buck knew his way around, there were not allot of hunters and he made it through the season fine.
You were being sarcastic in the question, I am not in the answer. He has the genetics for a good head. Not world class, but in time he will make the record books.

Without seeing any other deer on your hit list then it’s hard to say. Depending on the region that could be the biggest buck seen on a farm in ten years. I live in the land of giants so I’d probably pass on him And just shoot some does for meat. But like I said, it’s tough for someone like me to say “don’t shoot that deer” when it might be the biggest deer you’ve ever had walk in front of you.

Exactly Bucks! If I saw him he would have a 30 caliber hole behind the front leg.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Would I shoot it? Yes. How could one not shoot it?
Would I regret it? Yes I would. Why? Because I have been down this road before.
I have a 4 1/2 year old on my wall which scores 159 net. It looks very similar to the one in the pic above. What would it have been the following year?
Would someone else have shot it before I had a change to the following year? We will never know. I shot it.
