Nittany took my answer.  Is there a reason or experience behind that answer? In my experience with k9 sets, I catch a lot more fur on the third day after I make the sets than on the first day. I'm not sure why, but have some suspicion it has to do with letting the human scent dissipate.

In my experience with k9 sets, I catch a lot more fur on the third day after I make the sets than on the first day. I'm not sure why, but have some suspicion it has to do with letting the human scent dissipate. Urban critters aren’t real concerned about human scent. They are eating cat food right off the back decks.

You might have a better chance of winning power ball. Even if a person was told that 6 catches were made and there were 5 possible targets: red fox, grey fox, raccoon, opossum, and skunk, it would still be difficult. There would have to be a set of 30 (6 reds, 6 greys, etc.) individual critters to choose from and choose 6 at a time. That would be 30 C 6 which gives 593,775 possible combinations! Go to 7 catches and the same critters and the combinations are 6,724,520. Go from 0 to 17 catches and the combinations would be staggering.

Hobbie, ive got a question. I dont have enough red fox around here to make a scarf so dont know much about them. The two in the middle have hips that are different than the two outside ones, is redder better or like coyotes is color just color and they grade on fur quality and length? Red is what is desired. Straw backs and frosty rumps not, however the current market has them all worthless regardless of color, length or quality. lol
