Draselt in Wyoming without having the regs in hand the restrictions that come to mind are 295 or less BAD ,12” max loop measured horizontally at middle of loop, must be anchored solid, no drags. Cannot be wired to fence wire as anchor, must be checked at least once a week, so for example if you set on Monday and check on Sunday of the next week you are compliant at 13 days if you checked again the following Sunday compliance at 7days and so on. Anyone with the regs in hand please feel free to correct me as memory ain’t what it used to be.

Are bear traps legal those states with no restrictions? Bears are a factor in Alaska. Don’t remember “bear traps” as being illegal in Wyoming but trapping bears by any means is. They are considered trophy big game as are lions. Only the G&F can trap them.

Yeah CMCF sounds right to me. I cant remember the poundage right off hand but the rest is right on the snares. The check period schedule is confusing at first but is very easy going once you figure eit out. I rarely ever let a trap go over 24 hours on a check though. I just gotta know right now. I suppose patience might leave with age i don't know yet.
On the bear trap issue. Technically setting a bear trap is not illegal i suppose but I would think you would get in trouble for targeting big game animals like stated above. Hard to set one and be like i just like big traps? Lol

I read the NY Regs. for traps on land larger than 4” must have pan tension device but can be as large as 5 3/4 INSIDE. Pg. 55. Therefore inside lams can make a big difference. Water foothold traps set in or under water have a 7 1/4" inch maximum inside jaw spread. w

7 1/2" Max. inside measured at widest point parallel to the dog in NC. All traps set on land greater than 5 1/2" measured as described must be offset 3/16". No offset required when set it water.
