Got a bottle of Dunlaps Hot Shot bobcat urine by mistake on an order. We don't have a bobcat season here or any bobcats in my area of the state. Is there any use for it on a K9 line ? Will it attract all the feral cats in a 2 mile radius ? -Thanks

Use it, you’ll love it. I’ve never noticed my feral cat catch rate to raise because of it. But I run maybe a little heavier pan tension than some.
In the spirit of saving all the upland birds and small forest creatures, maybe I should lower my tension and try to catch more ditch tigers lol

Bobcat gland is also a killer on K9's. Weiser's has been the most productive for me.

Blackies Blend sold or still sells through Welches, a blended Fox/Bobcat urine that has worked very well in my area.

I use cat urine and gland a lot on my coyote sets. Gland on new sets seems to be a killer, and I almost always use urine at remakes. My thinking is that the combo of coyote and cat might suggest a fight or something to a curious yote. Not sue that's right, but it seems to work.
We have lots of cats but they tend to be in different terrain than yotes so I think it's a familiar smell, but still very interesting!

I always use coyote gland at all my cat sets, on the outside blocking. And late January i use bobcat gland at 50% of my coyote sets for a change up. It seems to get the attention of them older male coyotes the best.

Oops and at the other 50% a shot of bobcat urine on the out side blocking.

Bobcat urine is great for everything!

If price is the same I would use bobcat urine for everything .

I use bobcat urine at k9 post sets. I also run mink urine and beaver castor on them..
For some reason I dont do well around here with coyote pee or gland lures. But if I run any other species urines or gland lures they work great.

What is a good place to buy bobcat pee?

I remember reading once that after a certain period of time (surprisingly short), urine breaks down enough that the carriers marking the species of origin are indistinguishable. There can, however, be other trace elements that would be distinguishable to a discerning nose. I would assume these to be related to gland, cycle, pen contaminants, etc.

Nice cat black spot. I went to 98% cat urine at my sets. Other is red fox. I bought few bottles of mega musk to try.

Cat season ends Friday, but I really found some good tracks today, so I'm trying to get more sets out. Cat activity has increased noticeably this weekend. Last night I called (hunted) bobcat for the 1st time. I was concerned it might spook the cat in the area I'm trapping, but it seems it may have actually helped, because I saw fresh tracks today on both sides of where I was calling last night. Interesting. It helps that the snow conditions today were the best they've been in the past month for I.D.'ing tracks. But I went to the other property today (I'm trapping 2 areas) & saw the 1st set of tracks there that I've seen in several weeks so I made a good set on it. Now, it's wait & see if they come back thru the same spot. Hopefully I didn't spook the cats tonight by hammering in more sets this evening...

I use fox urine for 90% of my sets and it doesn't seem to be an issue. Honestly, I think I could use just about any type of urine.

I either use bobcat urine or fox with my canine sets.
