Not sure if it’s anything special but I remember knifes like that being sold at gas stations and bait stores where they were displayed on a carboard display rack when I was a kid most of them had a kind of cover that usually came off after a while leaving you with plane bare metal sides
That one looks Like it’s in good shape

I collect those, among other vintage fishing tackle. That is a nice one, what name is on the blade? Lots of promotional types given away with names imprinted on them. That one still has the bail. If the scales are both good, not peeling and never been sharpened on a grinder, blade in good shape it would fetch $20.00 at any knife show. A box, leather sheath, unique promotional name will get more money. Those blades sharpen very well and hold a edge nice. I have one in my creek trout gear, and use it.

Hook remover on the end of the scaler, a 50s or 60s tackle box was not complete without one.

I'll open it up and look at the blade later. Was my father in law's. Looks to be in mint condition.
Just happy to be here.

Those knives were very popular fishing tackle box knives when I was a pup. In fact, my Bride carried one in her purse for decades that I'd given her when we were dating!

I have many that are yellow, a very common color, white is much less common. They did not like being laid in hot sun, that is what did the scales in, being washed in very hot water also. I have a Herters name on one, Eagle Claw on one, also some now out of business hardware stores. Great addition to a vintage fishing outfit. Get a original Zebco 33 on a Shakespeare rod, a coffee can of worms and that knife and head to the local pond.

One of my favorite knives. Some of them came with very good steel, others not so much. If the blade has a black hue to it and is difficult to keep from rusting, that's one of the good ones. I had one that I could sharpen so you could shave with it and it held an edge. Hard to beat high carbon steel. It would rust and tarnish just looking at it but man did it ever take an edge.
I keep desperately hoping that one day someone will call me "Sir" without adding "please calm down" or "you're causing a scene."
