I wont shoot a calf elk even though in some instances its legal to do so I am thinking if I ever have another cow tag I would focus on a calf lol. Something that would be more edible than a old cow. The leg shank meat is like tenderloin.

I'll probably never shoot a methhead unless I catch them stealing from me or they break in while I'm home. So you're actually saying there's a very good chance you will shoot a methhead, unless you're gone from home almost all the time, limiting your chances to catch one stealing from you. Keith

I shoot every one of those that I see. I would have a hard time stopping myself from doing so out of season, in front of the game warden. They are not good for the herd.

Not even sure I understand the question.
All animals are fair game given the right situation. You right on that I feel the same way. Song birds and birds of prey are protected by fed law. They are out from any shooting. Any other thing that is protected other wise, cats are fair game if out in the woods or trap line.
