My name is John. I’m 38 years old and live in SW Missouri. Really enjoy this site and have learned a lot. I was able to be home all winter, so had a solid 45 day check on my traps. 6 traps at my place on 10 acres and 8 traps on 40 acres about an hour south of me. It was the best season I’ve ever had. Not just because of the catch but just being home and being outside. I have sold fur in the past, but 95% of what I catch, I tan myself. Give it away as gifts to friends and family. I really enjoy doing that.
I just wanted to introduce myself and thank everyone that I’ve leaned from here on the forum. I’m going to try and post a few pics from this year, but can’t guarantee I can figure it out. Might include a pic my rifle buck from this year. Haha.
My totals this year were 15 coyotes, 6 grays, 1 red, 1 bobcat, 6 opossum, 49 raccoon.
Thanks again, everyone!

Thanks, Actor!
Pintail, it’s my parents’ place. They butt up to a national forest. It’s my heaven on earth. I have a job that fortunately pays me to to have stretches at home, but unfortunately that doesn’t happen much. I take advantage of it every chance I get. Leaving the house at dawn and listening to trapping podcasts on the drive, watching the sunrise, seeing the wildlife, sipping on my coffee, no one out. Life is perfect in that moment. I used to set more traps, but realized there really isn’t any need for more with the way it is set up. Plus I can tinker with my tree stands, cut wood, do things my parents need.
I hope to build a line in between the two places sometime. I live on the 10 acre place. But the stars haven’t aligned yet. There are some dynamite looking farms I pass though. It will happen one day!
