They are down but that cat average is 50% higher then 2016. Colorado was the same. If that trend continues in Fallon, it won’t be bad at all.

If traps work like the Antis say......I would have no fingers.

I talked to a trapper who was there. He said trappers weren’t to upset because they were expecting worse. He didnt notice any buy backs but I’m sure there’s some. I looked at the bid sheet and there wasn’t many super low cats. A few under $100. Most likely shot cats. No offense to hunters, but moat are pretty half -when it comes to putting up fur. Shows only two no sales

Buyers are purchasing cat skins with nowhere to go with them.
My hats off to someone willing to take the Gamble and buy my furs.

Option B : ship to FHA and who knows what will happen. Sell some this year, next, year after that, never?

And your state associations make a little coin to help fight for our privalage (should be a right) to trap.

See you at Fallon and Arizona fur sale Williams AZ March 14th.

thank you good observation and info...roughly only 60% sold helps explain the cat average. I assume the top half sold.

I think there are 499 cats total? Im guessing 318 is the number of cats that the buyers went through yesterday. The cats I checked in put the total around 380 cats at the sale and my lot numbers havent been sold yet. I could be wrong but that is what I am thinking?

I ran through the full report. 33% over the average 66% under.

Appears there is a price for all cats (if you can afford to hold them)

Me and my wife averaged $380 on the 7 cats we took to the sale. Our high cat was 688. Pleasantly suprised with our results. Thanks to the Utah Trappers Association for all the hard work!

Thanks for posting the averages. Is there some where to see how many pelts of each species were offered and how many sold.

There were only like 185 cats there today and they were all nice ones so I guess when there aren't many to fight over...

Fallon gonna be short on cats from what I hear so prices might be good there as well.
