If it is a lack of spark your plugs should be getting at least a little fouled, are they at all oily? If it is a lack of fuel your plugs should be dry or even turning grayish. If they are turning grayish that is a sign of too lean, and you could burn a hole through the top of a piston and or worse. I would take it back out get it warmed up at moderate speed, then wide open for a minute or so, then immediately shut it down and inspect the spark plugs. Spark plug color and condition is one of the best ways to diagnose two stroke issues. I'm guessing high end jet picked up some crud.

This is probably not the issue but...a friend of mine was having a similar problem. Ran fine at idle through about half throttle but if the throttle was moved any higher it just died. No sputter, just immediately dead.
He spent a long time trying everything he could think of. He had the motor in the shop and they couldn't find the problem. Replaced fuel system, rebuilt carbs, replaced coil (even though it tested good). He eventually found a bad wire that was broken internally. The wire made contact inside the insulation when at idle. But, when the timing advanced, that wire was stretched a little and broke contact.

I had a Johnson do the same thing and it was a cracked fuel line between the tank hook up and carb. I figured that out after trying a dozen other things. It would idle fine, but would only run about quarter to third throttle. X2 Same symptoms if the interior of the fuel line is seperating. It'll run ok until it starts sucking hard for fuel. I'd replace the lines and filter first. X3

That makes good since now about the choke. Thanks. Yea I'm fixin to pull carbs and get em good and clean and then do all the fuel lines and if that dnt fix it il rebuild the fuel pump I had the exact same problem. Would idle absolutely fine, but when id cranked it open, it would bog down and die. Rebuilt the pump, and no problems after. Those little diaphragms wear out easily.

If you have two damp plugs I'm guessing it's not a lack of fuel problem, I think you have an ignition problem in those two cylinders, Bad ignition coils, bad plug wires, I've even had bad plug caps.

Yep had the same symptoms on a 45 horse tried everything even a different pitch prop. Rebuilt the pump and it ran like a striped ape.
