Mr Coonman there is an app for that. It's called onX it has a 30 day free trial. It will show all property lines in your state and have owners info. It costs 6 coon skins to keep it for a year. ($30) Your state regulations are online free. Download Adobe Acrobat and then the regulations. That way if and officer gives you a hard time you can show them that you in fact are perfectly legal and knowledgeable.
Good luck and stack the fur.

Dave, if the gas line is a distribution line, IE it's intended us is to feed home, businesses, farms, etc, it's a public utility and is for sure in the ROW. If it's a transmission lines it's most likely outside of the ROW.
I wouldn't worry about it.

Sorry I post, to some real jerks on here. Bums an loosers, tatle tail snitches to, idk less if kick off , delete my post, idk , bunch know it alls on t man, nothing better do than lurk on it all day The way I read your original post is that you trapped a couple beaver outta season. If that's what someone told on you about, that's your fault. You can't tell on yourself and then get mad when someone repeats it. As far as the jerks, bums, and losers, well, you might be right. There are some know-it-alls on here. That Beav guy is one of them. Boco is another. Can't help themselves I figure. Always gotta be right about everything. They're pretty helpful though if you try some of their advise. I took the lurking thing kind-of personal. I do that sometimes. And, I look for your post. You attract a lot of attention. You're like a T-man celebrity. Soon as I see Coonman220, I click on it. It's the daily puzzle.

Yes it is distribution line. Ur right, I was thinking about it more an other places, the gas line usally runs right on edge row, on state row, or road, some places row is wide, others not on state or even county hiways , by culvert it goes out aways. I believe where the farmer say to trap , I went out aways, an was still in row.i still have upon rare very rare occasion been yelled by landowners under bridge or in row,, once was just out town I live in, had beaver under a bridge an farmer ran up, was fixing fence, told me I was trespassing an couldn't trap under any bridges, an they caught some other guy, say I could go if just after beaver, after bunch loud talk, got my trap an left with beaver

I mean no offense by this...do you talk the same way you type? I always get a kick out of the different folks in this country. I knew a Cajun man and I had to decode his English daily. He could speak perfect French though...he had never left America. Eventually I was able to pick up on his language and still use some of his slang today. Wife has family from Devils Lake ND and we chuckle at the way they talk too ya know..lol. Her Grampa gets real north when he gets a little drink in him. I have family from Tennessee and Georgia but my Dad and I were both born in Oregon...somehow we still have a bit of an accent and use words and slang folks aren’t privy to in the northwest. I referred to myself as a hillbilly to a caliregonian and the look I got was bout near priceless. Duck’em coonman, bet you’re a cool dude.

Was possibly go trap close to dam in ditch along 4 lane freeway, u can legally trap without permission in row, last fall the farmer approach whole culvert an ask if wanna trap beaver. I told him open April 15 an he say now right away like trap, not then, I set trap, 2 beaver in 2 days an left. Like do some spring beaver trapping, where I set was on roadside of natural gas line. Anyone know of buried gas line in ditch, run along ditch , close property edge, that if gas line is usally on road right way ? I don't know his name an if house across road or where, an not gonna go though bother to try catch 1-2 beaver. Dam borderline but on roadside gas line, an looks like row , where make foothold set close dam , just like make sure I ok, he say in Nov to go, might not like neighbors see me around this time year, the ditch close dam is max I want to walk "I was possibly going to trap close to a beaver dam in the ditch along a 4 lane freeway. You can legally trap without permission in the ROW (right of way) in Iowa. Last fall the farmer who owns the land asked me if I wanted to trap the beaver up the creek. I told him season is open until April 15th. He said he'd like them trapped now, right away. I didn't want to right then. I did set one trap in what I think is the ROW and caught 2 beavers in two days, then I pulled the trap. I'd like to do some beaver trapping this spring. The location I had set previously, was on the road side of a natural gas line. Does anyone know if these gas lines are in the ROW or on private ground? The gas line runs along the ditch, close to the property line and I want to make sure I'm not on his property. I don't know the farmer's name and I don't know if he lives in the house across the road. I really don't want to bother to go to all the trouble to locate him if I don't have to, to set where I set in November, for 1 or 2 beavers I may catch. I don't want to walk all the way onto his property anyway." If you can't figure out what he is asking why not just skip it and not make stupid comments. Most of us don't think you're being funny. Dave you'll be legal if you are on the road side of the gas line. ~ADC~

coonman220 go to DNR site and download the regs there for hunting and trapping it spells it out for what you can do and not do. If not sure it have the cell phone numbers of all the Game Wardens that is by county. They will set the law enforcement on track. For what you said you are with the law like ADC stated
