Maybe you should all ask your kids and grandkids how they feel about giving you a thousand bucks. That's really what's happening. We are all getting a loan which they are agreeing to pay for. Naw, it'll just be added to the national debt, which will never be paid off. There are no plans to pay it off, and it wouldn't be possible.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

Spend it on an overseas vacation. When you get back, things will have died down. $1000 bucks should get you a month or 6 weeks in a nice resort in Cuba.

That money won’t be free. You don’t stimulate an economy with free anything. We need infrastructure and Americans making the things Americans need.
I find it pretty disturbing that so many in this country are ok with the idea of running future generations into debt. Even worse is that there is no intention to pay it back.

Anybody that thinks a one time $1,000 payment to every man, woman and child in the US will offset the financial damage that has already been caused by the panic over this virus is a whole lot of bricks short of a full stack! That would be just a drop in the bucket to the damage that has already been done and we can not even imagine the light at the end of the tunnel yet.

Sounds like a bad idea to me. If you can't work because of this, if your company can't open, file for unemployment. That's what it's for. That's why employers pay into it. Just handing out money is not going to be a very good idea. What about people that live on tips. How much "unemployment" they going to draw. You guys that are complaining must of had it too easy for too long. You fail to see the couple that struggle to pay their bills every month. OR you want them to get in line a draw like the rest of the sorry pieces of crap. Just stop and look at the fast food resturants that are shutting down. MILLIONS of workers out of work in an instant !!! I have a brother in law that has a small business but he suppliments his income by substitute teaching in the winter. Schools closed He isn't eligible for unemployment !!! More people suffering out there if you get out of "your " little world and think about others and the "real impact " this is having... A bold assumption for someone that knows nothing about my finances or me for that matter. Let me clue you in. I've worked my butt off for everything I own and when I didn't have a job that paid enough, I got a different job or worked two jobs. I also worked and paid my own way through college without a dime from anyone including the government. If you don't think you're making enough money then get another job. Your brother in law could do something other than substitute teach, the world needs ditch diggers too. Yup, I've worked my butt off in "My little world" so excuse me if I don't want to give hand outs.

I didn't complain with the last 2 adminssending checks, I'm not going to complain for this either. Being on disability and getting an extra $1000 for us will go a long way

Don't think it's to offset the damage . It's to help people to buy food that lost their employment in a blink of an eye. Unlike some on here remarked tons of people won't be able to just go out and find another job........

Finster once again I'm not pointing at you. But the unemployment rate just went to around 39 % in less than 3 days . So yes the world needs ditch diggers but only so many ditches going to be dug during this virus. You are stuck in the mind set that all is well. This media blitz of death has come for us is pretty bad as how it is changing peoples life and livelihood... !!!! Once again I am only stating "real life" facts. So the death toll gone past 85 yet ????? Based on statistics 15 people choked to death today !! Another 15 will tomorrow . In 5 days choking deaths will pass corona. See my point on how bad this is being blown out of proportion ......... I agree, This has been blown way out of proportion. My point is that unemployment is there for these people. I don't consider it a hand out because it's money that the government shouldn't have it's mitts on in the first place. That is money paid by employers for firings, layoffs and problems like this. The money is there if you have worked so the 39% isn't an issue short term. I will try to be as succinct with my point as possible. Being an adult comes with all kinds of responsibilities and a major one that is very often overlooked is financial responsibility. Being out of a job for a few weeks should not put anyone that is financially responsible in a twist. Yea, you might not get to take a vacation this summer or what not but if it's sending you down in flames then you are doing a multitude of things wrong. Learn to live within your means and save some, buy a home you can afford, pay off all credit cards every month. It's really not that hard to do. If you can't live with the money you're making, then you need to find a job where you can. However, often it's not the job, it's the poor choices. It's the car payment for a new car when you could have gotten a beater to get by with, it's the $150 a month cell phone you don't need, it's the $200 cable bill and internet bill you don't really need, It's the eating out, takeout, fast food when you could have fed yourself for two days for the price of a burger and fries. It's paying $600/month for rent instead of sacrificing for awhile to buy a home for that much and build equity. These are all things I have cut out in my life at one time or another. All things I only acquired when I could afford to do so. It's called being financially responsible. So, again, it's hard for me to pity people that could do better but have decided not to and now find themselves in a spot. Now, as with anything, I know their are exceptions but very few in my reasoning.

Figure out what $1000 to each man, woman, and child would cost with a population of 35,000,000. That well exceeds what the national debt is now, I believe. If you add up all the total net worth of all millionaires and billionaires in the US it would not cover one year of national DEFICIT. The spending is way outta control, as we all know.

I'm think'in your miss'in some zeros there? Population is around 350,000,000 X 1000 would be $350,000,000,000 Or did I screw it up?
