So the Governor thinks she's God now. That position is already taken. School administration and boards have no say over their districts......

Lol. That's lame. Can't wait to see who's going to one- up this one. Why don't they close them for next year too. Just to be safe.

I have twin seniors. Our house is pretty bad right now. One would have placed at state track. No prom who knows about graduation. The last couple of months your senior year are supposed to be a great time. So sad

I was hoping that they would wait and make a decision in 14 more days. Our school is closed already for this week and spring break is next week. Dang!!! I figured it was coming so I told the boys last night to get ready to learn the intricacies of planting corn. They have never been able to help much during April with school and track. Shop class is also officially open

The school district where I work closed this week. We're planning to be closed for a month but who knows? I'm working every day as is my department. Otherwise, it's a skeleton crew. No teachers, no secretaries, two administrators per school each day on a rotation. Only maintenance and custodial staff working to clean schools. I've told everyone that as soon as they get the schools cleaned, they can go home too. I think that will take us about a week.
The food service dept. is running with a skeleton crew and still providing meals to the kids that need them. They're available for pick up in paper bags. I think we had just over 200 picked up today - down from the roughly 3,000 that get a free meal at school every other day.
A lot of people are losing their jobs and a lot more will lose their jobs as business shut down for who knows how long. All bars and restaurants are closed here but takeout and delivery is still allowed. My church just decided to close for 2 weeks - never thought that would happen. A week ago, I said this was no big deal. I think we've made it a big deal.
I wonder if the virus or the economic impact will hurt more people.
