Many countries are in this pickle and have done what the US is now starting to do to try to slow down the spread and not over tax our health care system. Whether we agree or not on the process, I think we owe it to our kids to demonstrate how to get through difficult times.

Same here obaro. The boys got the tire shed, the oil barn, and filter room in tip-top shape the last two days. Canceled church too. If it keeps raining we may be cleaning the kitchen cabinets in a week or so

It's about time. Our legislators are reining in the would be dictator of our governor. The only reason that woman got elected is because so many voters stayed home. Everybody votes in a presidential race but 2 years later they stay home. This is what happens if your one of those.

Good for them. Everyone out this way can’t believe she didn’t take the school decision a couple of weeks at a time. Seems rational to me to take a deep breath and evaluate the situation as days pass. If things keep getting worse keep the schools closed. If it’s not so bad at the first or middle of April open them back up. Common sense, but then again we are talking about Topeka so common sense doesn’t apply

Our school board had a meeting last night that was streamed where everyone could watch it. They were talking about doing some online stuff as well as some doing some things with small groups of each class on alternating days at the school. Teachers would be there everyday, but alternating small groups of kids would be there at different times.Mostly focusing on core classes and doing them in blocks of 75-90 minute periods; no music, art or PE it sounded like. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. I could definitely see some proms in this area happening out in someone's farm shop sometime in May when most of this has blown over. Not sure what to think of all the other school activities that have got canned for the year.

My grandson is a senior. He was told he will get a diploma but no graduation ceremony.

That’s a shame Danny. That’s the only rock solid thing that came out of last night’s board meeting. There will be a graduation come heck or high water.

I live in cherokee county. Our sheriff just announced our first confirmed case this morning.
