Anyone have an opinion on using barker mink pans on trap sizes 1 1/2 up to size 2

I have been using barker mink pans and the same pan size I've made myself on mink and rat traps for many years. I know they they offer a great advantage for catching these species.Wildriver pans are used by quite a few trappers as well and I have heard they work good too.

I have used those pans for longer then I can remember on my mink traps. Great addition to a trap for mink work.

I switched all my pans to the Barker's years ago and love them. I use mainly #11's on my coon/mink water line. I felt they really improved my mink catch ratio and helped on the coon as well. Surprisingly, I've never lost a Barker pan to coon. I used to lose several each year with the stock 11 pans. I'd highly recommend you at the very least try some and make your own decision.

The way the old style add on pan covers quickly attached by bending a few small tabs to attach to the stock pan was very durable. I don't recall losing many over the years. They can get a bit loose with some catches. It doesn't take long to check them quickly to make sure they are still secure just before resetting.

Are the pinch pans perhaps a better option? Thinking of doing the same and can't decide either to buy barkers or cold creek

The Wild River pans are a much better option than the Barker's. The pans are heavy duty and will stand up to abuse from coyotes, otters, and bobcats. They are easy to install and they make your traps have just a bit less pan tension allowing them to fire easier which is what you want when trapping mink and muskrats.

I tried a dozen one year just to see if I liked them. I installed them on all of my mink traps before the next season started.

Get a dozen of each and see what you like the best.

I would also recommend the Wild River pans.

If you go with the Baker pans just get out your pop riveter and rivet them In place. Then if you don't like them you can just grind off the rivet and your good to go.

I'm Old I've tried 1000s of things some worked some didn't.

Fossil tuned me into return of the legend flopper pans, once I got my pan tension down to ounces my catch went up considerably.
